If you are new to the site, welcome to the new and revamped Gliterary Girl. To our old friends, thank you so much for all of your support, we truly couldn’t have done it without you. Gliterary Girl is nothing without your wandering eyes and all of us here appreciate your patronage and friendship.
Designing this website was a game changer for me. The whole rearranging templates, adding widgets, html code, uploading, downloading, pulling out your hair because the site isn’t loading, stomach aches and hearing loss from a child screaming for attention because mommy can’t even pick her head up from the brain frying computer screen, is just not a part of my genetic makeup. I am a student, a writer, a girl who likes to shop and drink lattes with her besties, I am definitely not a techie…but I kind of had to be for the last week (well, I like to think I did – although the guy at tech support who spent three hours trying to find the root of my major blunder would rightfully disagree). But I can’t complain because I put myself in this position. I chose to take this venture into a whole new dimension and admittedly, it’s pretty freakin’ awesome.
On that note, I just want to say, I am so happy with our new change. Yes, it’s weird not having the safety net of readers that I connected so well with over at the 2 Gliterary Girls site, but hopefully they will find their way here. Plus, I am counting on making hundreds and thousands….no millions, of new friends. So, as a way to extend my hand to you, the reader, I want to implement some interactive features.
1) Book Club; (Virtual – you vote and we discuss it via the forum. Possibly chat with the author?)
2) Reader suggestions and reviews; and
3) A forum that will be linked to topics or stories we write about.
What do you think? I need to know because it won’t work without you. So, I am creating a forum to discuss how this can get started. I would love it if you would head over to it and let me know your suggestions.
JUST AN FYI – THE FORUM SECTION IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION: IT SHOULD BE UP LATER TODAY!
