THE GIST: Claim Me continues to follow the troubled relationship between the Alpha-Dom-Troubled-Billionaire Damien and the Ex-Beauty Queen Nikki. It has passion, love, yearning, and scars. And  you can’t forget about the kink! Cliché? Yes. Worth the read? Definitely!

[spacer size=”20″] [frame align=”left”]SYNOPSIS: For Damien, our obsession is a game. For me, it is fiercely, blindingly, real.

Damien Stark’s need is palpable—his need for pleasure, his need for control, his need for me. Beautiful and brilliant yet tortured at his core, he is in every way my match.

I have agreed to be his alone, and now I want him to be fully mine. I want us to possess each other beyond the sweetest edge of our ecstasy, into the deepest desires of our souls. To let the fire that burns between us consume us both.

But there are dark places within Damien that not even our wildest passion can touch. I yearn to know his secrets, yearn for him to surrender to me as I have surrendered to him. But our troubled pasts will either bind us close . . . or shatter us completely.

Release Me is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

THE LOWDOWN: When we left Damien and Nikki in Release Me, it was clear that the couple has issues. Damien still has his secrets, and Nikki is still trying to deal with her issues. Together, they are learning to trust and open up, but also how to deal with their needs. The setting is still in LA, as the reader, you get to experience the finer restaurants, hotels, and hang outs. You get Malibu, expensive antique stores, and rollerblading on the boardwalk.

Okay, this series is often compared to Fifty Shades, Damien to Christian. I adore both men for different reasons. Damien is domineering and kinky but he is not anal retentive. He needs control, but doesn’t go through the whole “Daddy, may I?” routine. There’s no contract or set rules. He’s in charge and that’s that! That’s one thing I’ve always liked about this series, is that the BDSM rules and rationale doesn’t take up half of the book. I don’t need to know the ins and outs of how to be submissive, nor their hard and soft limits. Damien’s walls start to come down for Nikki in this story, but I am glad that he didn’t lose his Alpha side in the process. For me, that was the downside of Fifty, Christian totally lost his Alpha.

Overall, I liked this book better than the first. I really enjoy Kenner’s writing! I have a ton of highlights. I think the touches of humor lightened this book (I definitely wouldn’t mind being ‘Damienized!’) The chemistry between the couple was well rounded; it was sweet, intense, caring, and hot. There wasn’t a major ‘I’m-going-to-die’ cliffhanger on this one, but there was one. Secrets are revealed, questions are answered. Love is blooming. The BDSM was sexy and always new/exciting, that will guarantee to get your blood pumping!
